RUSS SCAVELLI
Russ Scavelli has performed with a wide range of artists from Jimi Hendrix bass player to world renowned musician/composer David Amram, The Crests, Vince Martel from Vanilla Fudge, and opening for major acts. Russ is currently performing with Paul Cotton from POCO, and his duo Black and Skabuddah in Key West FL. He and his partner, Laura, have received numerous songwriting awards for their songs, including: Women In Music award from Julie Gold (From A Distance), a Billboard award, Nashville Songwriters Award. They were also asked to perform a Joni Mitchell song at her CD release party at the Bitter End in Greenwich Village. They’ve also won the Key West/ASCAP Songwriters Event [Best Song] and were awarded a publishing deal for their song Don’t Lie To Me. The award was presented by Mac McAnally (Jimmy Buffett’s producer) and Ralph Murphy (ASCAP Nashville president). You can find Russ performing 5 days a week at well known Key West venues as a duo [Black and Skabuddah] with his partner Laura. His newest endeavor has been composing music for broadcast and performing with The Paul Cotton Band [From POCO].
